Importing From Quicken 15/16 For Mac

Ideally, you should follow the steps to import a QIF file.

Quicken 15/16 for Mac doesn't export QIF files, however it does export QMTF files.
QMTF files are very similar to QIF files with a different extension.

  • From Quicken, select Export and choose the QMTF file format or 'Quicken 2007 Format'.

  • When selecting the "Export Options", choose the export date range, and select 'Next'.

  • Enter a name for your exported data and select a location on your system to save the file.

  • Once exported you should locate the QMTF file at the saved location.

  • You can rename the file so that it ends with the .QIF file extension, rather than .QMTF

Once the file has been renamed to the QIF format, you can follow the steps to import the QIF file into Moneydance.

It should be noted that QMTF files do not support all account types fully, and Investment accounts do not transfer correctly with this method.
