Setting up Direct Connections with Bank of America
Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that they do not support Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service." You can also enroll online at the following website: http://www.bankofamerica.com/onlinebanking/index.cfm?template=quicken
Bank of America uses the same user name and password for online banking through their website and for direct connections through Moneydance. You can set up this connection by either calling Bank of America, or by using their secure chat function through their website banking interface. To use the secure chat interface, first sign into BoA's online banking website. In the right hand column you will see a "Help Center" option, which will have "Contact Us" as a sub heading.
Then in the Left Hand column Select the "Chat Now" Option to chat with a BoA rep. Then go through the process described above.
