Categories
In importing my MS money files, one of the categories has appeared in Moneydance as an expense, even though it was categorised as income in Money. How can I change it to income, bearing in mind I have already allocated a number of transactions to it?

I forgot to mention that this category has a sub-category; this sub-category is income in Moneydance, even though its parent is expense. I also can't find how to create a sub-category in Moneydance.

Bob,
The best way to do it would be to go ahead and create a new income category
in MD and also a new income sub-category. You create a sub-category either
by first selecting the top level category you want and then click new
category, or after clicking new category you choose the parent category in
the drop down in the pop up box.
After you create your categories you can do a batch change in the account
that the transactions are in. You can select the transaction(s) that you
want and then right click and do a batch change (account, category) If you
choose account it will move those transactions to a new account, category
reassigns all of them to a new category.
I would recommend doing a save as on your file and saving to a different
file name just to test it and to make sure you will get the desired result
before you do it on your main file. Once you have re-assigned the
transactions to the new income categories you are free to delete the expense
category. If it asks you to type in yes that means something is still
assigned... make sure you find the transaction assigned the category because
it will delete the transaction if you type yes.

Brilliant - it worked a treat, although with only a few transactions allocated, I decided to change them individually. Thanks for your help.
