Apple ical sync?

I read the archives.
Moneydance 2010r3 (751) does not sync with Apple iCal and there are no near term plans to sync.

Does Moneydance Reminders post a screen or emailed alert while Moneydance is not running?
If Moneydance automatically enters into iCal then Apple iCal and Mobleme will take care of the alarms and the Moneydance events showing on my computer and iPhone.

There is an existing feature request ticket for this feature. It is attached to the following discussion.

If you post in that discussion you post will count as a vote for the ticket.

    Thanks, Ben
I've already posted in the iCal discussion.
Thanks for your rapid and clear responses.

    To extend my point:
It appears Java based Moneydance is one Application running through Java on three Operating Systems each with the same features. That means the least feature able OS constrains the most feature capable OS.
If Apple OS offers iCal and Address Book and I want to use it, can my Moneydance access those portals? The CPA who enters adjustments for me and sends the file back to me is not interested in my iCal and Address Book and does not need them so his windows OS will not off that integration.
Where this becomes very constraining is when I use a bookkeeper. The bookkeeper would enter the tedious stuff weekly (or whatever), then I'd get the datafile and do my thing and have my iCal and Address Book updated. With the number of folks with 2 or 3 rental properties, this would a huge advantage. I'd have my iCal chiming at me about payments and collections, my Address Book current and my accounting current.
I'm thinking maybe I can accomplish the multi-platform impact using export/import functions. It can be done with pdf printouts or physical ones, which puts IBank and Quicken for Mac 2007 into play.

Moneydance has an extensions feature that allows you to install additional components into the main program. If we do implement integration for iCal and Apples Address book we would do so by writing an Apple only extension for Moneydance. It is not that Moneydance is technically constrained by the least feature right OS, rather we have to way the advantages of putting development resources into a feature that only benefits
    some of our users.

I will bring up the topic when I next meet with the developers.

    Sincerely

    Thanks
The extension is the way to do it! Great idea. An independent programer could do the extension and sell it to me, and others, or through Moneydance. Then there would be ". . an app for that. . ."
If you have Moneydance core programing and universal feature set done, then a way to expand market is to add features a portion of your market likes. If you don't feel you've got the core programing done on Moneydance -- there are some weighty things unresolved - - then put company time into the core.
I own a license. If I decide to use Moneydance, five more licenses + five iCal/Address Book integration apps will be purchased.
