Downloading Scheduled Payments from Online Bank?
I just switched from MS Money to Moneydance. For online banking, I primarily use TD Bank. On TD Bank's website, there is a Bill Pay feature will allows me to schedule future payments. In Money, when I downloaded my transactions from TD Bank, it would download the future payments and display them in my register. In Moneydance, it doesn't appear to do that (or it's putting them somewhere I can't find them).
Is there a way to have Moneydance also download and/or display scheduled payments from my online bank?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
The short answer is that Moneydance can only import transactions through direct connect which your bank has posted to the direct OFX connection server (which is distinct from the server which runs the website interface).
As to why Money is able to download these transactions- Quicken and Money support two methods of accessing your accounts: direct connect and web connect. With web connect, they basically connect to your bank's website and download and import OFX, QFX, QIF, and OFC files. Direct connect actually connects to a server at your bank instead of their website and usually requires different login credentials than you would use to log into your banks website. Moneydance only supports automatic connections through direct connect and not web connect.
The best work-around I have would be to manually enter these transactions in your register, or download and import one of the above described file types into Moneydance. We are looking into the possibility of offering web connect but its all a bit of a daunting process, especially determining a method that meets our high standards of quality and security. We have a tentative plan and rough timeline, and hope to be able to implement this service in the next year or so. We will keep the Moneydance community updated about new developments in web connect for Moneydance.
I'm sorry I don't have a more elegant solution at the moment, but please do let me know if I can be of further assistance,
