Hello,

I love MD on the desktop and have been using the iPhone app ever since I got an iPhone. I was wondering though if it would be possible to integrate saving a picture (or pictures) along with the transaction. This would allow me to take a picture of the receipt for the transaction right away and throw away the paper receipt. It would be very useful for warranty information and returns for example.

Thanks,

Romain

    Hi Romain

Thats a really interesting idea. We had an exiting suggestion ticket to add attachments to transactions in the desktop app but to be able to directly take a photo with the iPhone and have it attached to the transaction would be really neat. I have attached the original suggestion ticket to this discussion and created a new one for the iPhone app photo integration. By posting here you have effectively voted for the tickets.

I also think this would be a great idea - please add my vote. One suggestion I would make would be to make sure the connection to the MD database is via a link or similar function so that the photos don't add to the load on the MD database.

This would be an great feature. Money and Quicken both do that. Adding that feature to moneydance would make it even better. I would vote also to not have the file stored in the MD Database file, but just on your computer. Keep the MD File small like Jim suggested. You could use dropbox or similar to keep your receipts synced between devices.

A very good idea. I wonder if it could go a step farther. I scan receipts, complete with character recognition, and save as a searchable pdf file. Being able to attach this file to a transaction and ALSO include it in a search would be great.
