I am unable to do any searching at all - it's impossible to enter anything into the search field. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

Update: I just restarted MoneyDance and I can now enter things in the search field. However, in the earlier version, the search engine could search on ranges and things like that. Now I only seem to be able to search on an exact match, which is pretty useless. What happened to all the other search features?!

    Hi

We are experimenting with a more google like search in MD2010. Currently searching on ranges in not implemented though we are working on it. For more specific searches there is always the Find and replace extension.

Eek... "experimenting"? Features removed to be replaced by third party extensions? Now you really have me concerned.

    Hi

I hear your concern and I want to assure you that MD2010 is still a work in progress. We intend that the new search functionality will not be removing functionality rather changing the way search is accessed in MD. If users really want the old style of search back we will enable it perhaps with an advanced button next to the search box.

I am sorry to have caused alarm. Thank you for your feedback.

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer

    Ben,

I agree completely and wholeheartedly with polarbreeze - the search capability must not be limited to exact matches. I just wanted to add my opinion to what will certainly be a roar of protest if the search functionality becomes more restrictive. Thanks for listening.

    Hi Jim

I had a meeting with the lead developer today and brought up this issue. He assures me that there will be an advanced search option built in that contains the traditional search functionality.

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer
