Household budget maintained by 2 people
I am considering switching to Moneydance. Can I have one budget that is maintained by two people? I can put the moneydance file in a central place on the cloud and would like to have it updated through ipad and iphone when traveling. Can moneydance handle two people opening files and updating transactions?

David,
We have a simple formula that we like for our users to follow in determining how many licenses they need- one license per household, regardless of many people are in your household, how many computers you need to install the program on, or how many different operating systems (Mac, Linux, Windows, etc) you use. We'll also never force you to upgrade to a newer version, or disable features in older versions of our software. If you're going to run Moneydance on several computers with the same data file, we recommend using a tool such as Dropbox to do so. It's safe to use Dropbox, but it's important to only open the data file from one location at a time. The apps can sync with the Moneydance data file in Dropbox (or another cloud location), but don't have budget tracking on the app. It's currently only possible to sync the app over local wifi, although we are working on a new version of the app which will allow remote synctin.
I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program before you decide if you would like to purchase it. The demo version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test connections with your bank. If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all your data, the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more transactions.
For more information on how to get the most out of your trial period, check out our blog post on the subject.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance!
