I have tried more than 6 times to initiate the new upgrade release 2011r2 (802)
It downloads and seems to install OK but as soon as Moneydance is closed down it is lost.
The next startup of Moneydance reverts back to 2011r2 (801) and Moneydance tells me there is an update available.. round and round we go !!!!!

I am not sure what the problem is. It might be that we are currently in the process of uploading 803 MD2011r2 (stable). I encourage you to hold of until tomorrow and install the new stable build.

    Ben,
I did as you suggested,, I downloaded (803) this morning but it reacts in the same way as (802) i.e. it downloads and seems to install OK but does not exist once MD is closed down and restarted, when that is done I have the old (801) still installed.
What to do ?? Would like to know if any one else suffers the same problem ?

Maybe something to do with Lion 10.7.2 !!!

    Problem now solved.......
Funny thing is, I found the attempted update (803) in the Trash even tho I never deleted it.....(I only ever tried to download and "run" it from MD's update facility.)

On this occurrence I manually moved the (803) version from the Trash to the Applications folder which naturally replaced the old (801) version..
    Now it sticks !!
I have a sneaky feeling that downloads and installations should not normally react like this, should they... !!!!!!

I downloaded and installed 803 last evening and have quit and reopened it 4 or 5 times this morning without incident. You might try quitting all applications and restarting the computer. Or throw 801 in the trash and empty it.

I always leave a new version of MD on the desktop and open it from there. If everything is OK then I move it to the MD folder in my applications file. I do this with any upgrade that I download in case it get corrupted in the process. Are any of you using the latest version of Lion 10.7.2? I downloaded and installed it last week.

I'm using build 791. Can I confirm that after installing build 803 my data remains the same? Or will it get overwritten from the upgrade installation?

    Thanks.

    Hi kaileong,
Upgrading to 803 only upgrades the Moneydance application. Your data is stored in a different file altogether.
Your data is stored in a file with a .md extension. For example: mymoney.md

Kevin is correct. Updating the app does not affect your data.
