Income and Expense Reports
I am trying to do a report and the report keeps including items from different checking accounts even though I only want information from one. Specifically, it includes all bank charges from all accounts.

I am having problems generating an income and expense report with the information I want. The report keeps including bank charges from more than one account. How can I restrict the report to one account.

Hi Kenneth,
You can limit the report using the report options. Just click the edit button to open the report options. In the window that pops up, there should be an option called "Source Accounts". If you click the select button next to the Source Accounts option, you can choose what accounts you want to be included in the report.

When I run income expense report, the first line under expenses is a huge negative number. When I double click on that I see all transactions that are transfers between accounts. Moneydance appears to be subtracting all transfers even though net-net the result should be zero. In other words, if I move $10 from one account to another it appears as a net negative $10. Not sure since my transactions go back to 1991 and I have not tried to do the math to see that my theory is correct. But for sure all of the transactions making up the big negative number are transfers.
any way to fix this???

If transfers are recorded correctly they should not show up in income and expense reports.
Make sure that you have the "Show transfers to or from non source accounts" option on the report turned off.

Where is "reports"? It's not under "Edit".

In the income and expense report, click edit. In the edit window, under the grouping option, is the selection for transfer inclusion.

In generating a report, is it possible to get TOTALS only for each category?

Yes, the Income and Expenses report will only display the total for each category in the given time range.
