I purchased MD and now I am trying to transfer the Quicken file to MD. Everything has gone fine for the banking accounts, however when I try the investment accounts I am having major problems. When I transfer the transaction only a partial list of transactions comes across. Also none of the securities come. Do I have to manually input the purchase and sell transactions for each account? If this is the case I can not use MD. I have numerous accounts with years of transactions. I am running XP with MD2010r3(751)

    Hi davier12,
Have a look through this Moneydance Knowledgebase article. There may be something in there to explain it.

Yes, I have read that before.I was transferring one account at a time. I get
either a partial list of transactions or transactions that I can not modify.
    Also no securities are transferred.

    Hi davier12,
The Knowledgebase article recommends exporting your Quicken data as one .QIF file. Is this an option in your version of Quicken?
I've never come across a transaction in Moneydance that cannot be modified. Try highlighting it and hitting Enter.

Please try creating a new blank moneydance data file (File->New) and export all accounts from Quicken to a single QIF file. Then follow the instructions linked to in the above post to import that single QIF file.

    Ben
I tried that and it seems to be helping a lot. So far I have gotten most
of the accounts reconciled. Several more to go, but I am keeping my fingers
    crossed.

    Hi Dave,
You may need to set the initial balance on an account to get it to reconcile. To do so, access the account in question, then from the Menu bar, click on Account, then Edit Account... In the resulting form you can set the initial balance.

Thanks, I have been doing that all along. I have had some success by
following your advice about transferring to one file. I have several more
accounts to reconcile so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
