Is your purchase price a per year price or a one time price???

    Hi Frank,

    A purchase of Moneydance allows you to use that version of the program for as long as you want. We usually give a free upgrade to at least the next major version of the program. Beyond that, a previous purchase entitles you to a half-priced upgrade key. But as long as your current version is working fine for you, you do not need to upgrade.

    If you haven't already, I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program. The demo version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test downloading data from your bank, and importing data from other personal finance software.

    If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all your data, the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more transactions. You can download the trial version of Moneydance from here.

    You can find the Moneydance knowledge base here which will be useful if you're using Moneydance for the first time. I'd be happy to provide guidance if you have any questions or need assistance getting setup.

    Thank you for the quick response.  That is the answer I was hoping to get.  Don't like having to pay annual fee like quicken is starting.  Will be downloading shortly.

    downloaded the trial version and imported my quicken.   nothing was correct.  will try again later.

    Hello Frank,

    Can you clarify what that error log is from, and when it appears? Are you getting these errors when you try to import your QIF file from Quicken? Does no data at all import? Or is this an additional issue beyond importing?

    Started working on this again and discovered that I need to run it as administrator so no errors happen.
    It did an automatic import from Quicken but all the totals are incorrect.  Will research and try to figure out the problem.

    I'm glad to hear that at least the installation of the program has been solved.

    Are only your balances incorrect, but the rest of the data seems to have come through ok? The most common reason for this is that you still need to enter in the initial balances for each account. This information is not carried over from Quicken due to the limitations of the QIF format. You can read more about this at http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/accounts-and-categories/initial-bal...
