Allow new categories to be entered on the fly

When entering new transaction I quite often need a new category or sub-category. In MS Money I was able to create those on the fly. In MD I have to exit the transaction, enter the category, linking it to the correct main or sub-category, save it, then enter my transaction again. Too many unnecessary steps.

    Gets my vote too. As an exile from Microsoft Money (which I don't miss at all), this was a faeture that was useful

    Just reviewing my favorite discussions for MD and am interested to know if this feature to create a new category from the transaction is something that will be making it's way into the 2012 version of MD.

    This is one of my personal favorites, and Sean is in favor of including it. This isn't a promise of when it will be implemented, just information that it's toward the top of our list. I've also upped the priority of this ticket to the highest we have. Thanks for your patience, we will definitely post on this thread when the update is available.
