NET WORTH REPORTS FOR PAST DATES
This is a truncated version of a very helpful exchange I've had with Ben and Angie in response to separate posting I made using the same Subject Heading.
I simply want to add this request to the Suggestions Forum so others may see it and hopefully vote in favor of it.
I am currently running net worth reports for a given date, but would like to be able to generate a single report that provides net worth data by month, quarter or year for any given date range. One of the principle reasons I have maintained accounts using Money Management Software...initially Quicken, now Moneydance...has been to track changes in the value of these accounts over time.
I am currently using Moneydance 2010 r3 (751) and like it a lot, having abandoned Quicken when I moved from a PC to my new iMac.
This is the major report writing feature I find missing.

Here's a vote! I like this idea as well. Currently you can get these groupings for the Net Worth Graph but not the report.

Thank you. What the report can provide, which the chart does not, is the value of each account included in the net worth report. Seeing those changes helps one's understanding of the overall change.

Angie -
I am still keen on seeing this feature in Moneydance. As I indicated back in August of last year, tracking changes in one's net worth is one of the principle reasons many people use financial management software. The graph really doesn't do the job, because it doesn't provide the account detail needed or an understandable scale with which to read changes. None-the-less, since you already appear to have much, if not all, of the information needed in your graph, I'm having trouble understanding why you have not chosen to provide a report as well.

Hi Tad
We get literally thousands of suggestions and we have to prioritize which ones get scheduled for implementation. I am afraid that while a fine suggestion at this time other issues are more pressing. I realize this is an important issue for you and I am sorry that it has not been implemented.
Sincerely

I'd like to add to my support for this feature too. Very frustrating to see it in a graph but not be able to report by month.

Please add this feature. I transferred my data from Quicken - in Quicken you could make a report that did balance total comparisons for any interval. Using the end of the year is a great thing to do, to compare your net worth as time goes by. Please put this at the top of your priorities.

Thank you for your support. This is a very basic feature. Any ideas how we can ramp up the interest in having it added?

Bump. Please resolve this - we need reports that do balance comparisons from specific intervals. Thanks.

I'd like to add my vote for this feature too. The graph does not provide the individual account details. TIA,
