Calling on Angie, Ben, Jessica, Jon, any of you.

I'd like to put to a vote that an option under Preferences - Network ought to be added to be able to change the transaction date of a previously inputted transaction in the register to the downloaded date upon merge automatically.

This sprang out of another thread under Problems: http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/problems/3241-qif-download...

I have attached the relevant suggestion ticket to this thread. Users can post here to vote for this feature.

    Ethan-

Just curious, how do these suggestions work? I'm sure the support staff has a laundry list of ideas and changes they would like to see to the program. What can I expect from this suggestion? Potentially next month? next year? never?

Again, new to MD and just curious more than anything...thanks for any feedback

    Hi Scott,

To clarify the "voting" process a bit: our system basically tracks the number of posts in a thread that has a suggestion ticket attached to it. This gives us a rough idea of how popular an idea is. Of course, not all posts in a thread are simply votes in support; many are clarifying the request, others are voting against the idea. In general, the system provides a rough guide for how many people are talking about an idea, and we read the thread and use old fashioned human brainpower to decide what people are saying about the idea, rather than a strict count of the number of posts (which are important, but not everything).

Implementation is based on a variety of factors such as user demand, how critical the bug or suggestion appears to be, how long or difficult it would be to implement, and many other factors. I'm afraid that the support staff cannot predict or promise when features will be implemented.

+1, but one might describe the "downloaded" date as the "official" or statement date...

Good idea +1. Besides that corresponds with the legal record, in case statements are ever admitted into evidence. Anything else looks like one has been fiddling.

+1 This is a very helpful feature. Without it, it's very hard to reconcile my balance in my checking accounts (where some people might not cash the checks for a while)...

The bank's date is the date that appears on the bank's statement and thus is the one to use for reconciling. So yes, please use the banks date and not the date the transaction was entered by me into MD.
