Editing XML file (such as for changing account type)

Due to some change in the file that I download from my credit union, I had to change my overdraft credit line sub-account from a "bank" type to a "credit card" type in order for MD to list it in the account choices to assign it to. I followed the directions in the FAQ (http://help.infinitekind.com/faqs/frequently-asked-questions-2/how-...) and just wanted to say that it worked flawlessly.

I also wanted to add that my exported XML file was over 16MB, so I was nervous as to what editor to open it with. For users of Windows 7, Wordpad was updated and it handled the large file perfectly.

Well, apparently I spoke too fast. Now when downloading, the credits and debits are reversed, and I have to manually change the transactions. Is there another edit to the XML that I should do so that the program gets the proper info from the OFX file that my credit union uses? When I look at the OFX with Notepad, I see that what should be seen as a charge to the credit line is a positive number and a payment back to the credit line is negative, so I assume this is the source of the problem.

    Hi

Rather than edit the XML file a less error prone solution is to create a new account of the correct type and move the existing transactions into the new account. Go into the existing account, select all of the transactions (ctrl-A) and then right click and select Batch Change->Account and move all the transactions into the new account.

    Sincerely
