Updating to MD 2010
I see on the website that MD 2010 has now been released. I went to my registered version of MD and clicked on "get updates" and it came back that my copy of MD is up-to-date.
How do I get MD 2010? Do I need to download "trial version" and put in my key code again? If so, I don't know what my key code was nor how to retrieve it.
Thanks.

I think that's what you have to do. There must be a way if you email them to retrieve your licence code via your email address.

Just found this in the Knowledge Base:
If you can't find your license key, send an email to ***@bmtmicro.com with your name and any alternate email addresses you may have used to purchase Moneydance and the friendly staff at BMT Micro (our payment processing provider) will lookup your license key and send it to you via email.

Great, thanks. I'll give it a try.

I installed MD2010 over MD2008 on Mac, and it was already licensed. I didn't have to re-enter the license key.

Yes, I just had the same experience when I installed MD 2010. I had even found my license key before I started, but didn't need it in the end!
Thanks to everyone for your help.

I wasn't sure if I qualified for the free upgrade so I entered my license key on the site to check. It said I was eligible for the free upgrade so I installed it on my MacBook. When I launched it I checked the About menu and it says "Unregistered". I went to Help/Register and enter my license key and it says it is incorrect.
What can I do??

I had the same problems as some of you described above.
Go to the Moneydance site and start a purchase of the new version. The first screen will include a link to check to see if you qualify for a free or discounted update. This will depend on when you bought Moneydance 2008. At worst it will cost you $19.95.

Does someone from MoneyDance monitor these forums? I can't find a way to contact them about my issue.

They do monitor these forums. But you really should start your own forum topic to get your specific problem addressed. Putting a support request into someone else's thread will likely get overlooked.
I can imagine that they are massively swamped with support requests right now, with everyone trying to download, install, and purchase the new software version. Therefore, in addition to starting your own thread, you might try asking on the official Moneydance mailing list. There are some very knowledgeable users there who tend to respond pretty quickly.

Napman,
I have replied to your inquiry separately. If anyone purchased MD 2008, they are entitled to use MD 2010 for free. If you download version 723 your key should work (there was an issue with version 721). If your key does not work, we will issue you a new key.

Well I purchased MD 2008, downloaded 2010, went through the upgrade process and the web site said I qualified only for the reduced price upgrade, not a free upgrade.
I don't mind paying the $20 if it keeps you guys going, but perhaps your web site checker should be corrected?
Thanks.

We certainly want to make sure that those customers who are eligible for the free upgrade receive this service. Thank you for letting us know about the checker, I will pass this info on to our webmaster.
Ira, I have replied to you directly
