Scanning receipts

Does Moneydance allow you to attach a file to a particular transaction (e.g. a credit card transaction)? I'd like to be able to scan a receipt and associate it with my credit card entry in the application. Thanks.

Moneydance does not have this feature. There is an existing feature suggestion for this in our issue tracking system. Here is the ticket:

If you register and log into trac you can vote on tickets. We use the votes to help us determine what to implement next.

I used to scan receipts. It was a useful thing to do: associate the actual receipt with the transaction but it was really tedious to do it with a regular scanner. I tried different methods but eventually gave up. Do you have a special scanner that you use for this?

I don't yet, but there are a couple of scanners that have received pretty good reviews. I also can use my ScanSnap S510M. The files are a little large, but it might serve the purpose. If you travel, there are a couple manufactured by NeatReceipts that got decent reviews.

Anyone have experience with Mariner Software’s Paperless app? Allegedly it works with the iSight in your iMac. Very attractive feature, if true. I’m waiting for a trial serial code to evaluate it.
