Reporting by Payee
I need to run a report on all transactions that I have paid to a particular payee. Is this possible pls? I know you can do for categories.
(PS The report writer in Money has heaps more functionality/flexibility/filters etc..sorry!)

There are probably lots of ways to do this, but you can either use the "Transactions" report and sort by payee, or use the "Find" function (the binoculars icon in the upper right corner), the results of which can be printed.

Maurie,
Reporting in MD 2010 (due out by the end of the year) will have much more robust reporting.

When you select "Transactions" in the report window, it is one of the options. There is a dropdown menu labeled "Don't Subtotal." Pick that menu and choose "Subtotal by Payee."

I have MD2010 on a iMac no idea what it calls a transaction as according to it I only have one!!!!!!!! What the hell have I done wrong now?
Good job I still have and use Quicken 2004 on my XP Netbook only way to get this sort of info.
Oh by the way can you change the font size in printed reports - Quicken 4pages MD 7pages so much for reducing printing costs and saving the planet.

Hi Derek
In what context is Moneydance telling you you only have one transaction. Please give me more information.
You can change the font size on printed reports by selecting File->Preferences...->Printing. There you can set the font and the point size.

Hi Ben
Sorry as you may have guessed I'm not only new to iMac but also Moneydance changing over from Windows PC and Quicken so it takes a bit getting used to. So far well worth the hassle.
With Transactions it had picked my first account which did I did not spot and that only had one transaction for period I had picked in account view, could not understand, as on checking could not see any differences with other transactions in other accounts. Now 'found' the others.
Thanks for guide on font size in Reports - sorted. Some people are never satisfied - what about Category List? That ignores Preferences selection and still prints in large font taking up 7 pages.
Regards

Hi Derek
I am afraid there is not an option to change the font size when printing the category list.
I am sorry if this does not meet your needs.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer
