Is there a report that shows 2010 & 2011 & 2012 budget side by side, month by month?

    Hi frankrader,

You would first need to create a budget which includes data from those 3 years.

You could then run the Budget Report with it's Edit parameters set to 'Custom dates' and 'Subtotal by Month'.

Note that such a report would generate 108 columns However, once the report is generated, you can drag the colums by their respective headers so as to arrange them as desired.

    Thanks.
The report would show July 2010, Aug 2010, Sep 2010 and thus rather than the desired July 2010, July 2011, July 2012, July 2013?

Same thing sought by quarters: First qtr 2010, First qtr 2011, First qtr 2012.

    Hi frankrader,
It'll take some work but the columns can be moved to display the results as desired.

Can the results be saved for future reporting?

    Hi frankrader,

Can the results be saved for future reporting?

If I understand you correctly, the report can be 'Memorized' and brought up again for future reference.
Repors can also be Saved as HTML, comma or tab delimited.

    FrankRader,

All of Kevin's advice is excellent, and precisely what I would have recommended. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

To generate a budget comparison report will take moving and deleting columns. (1) Is it possible to delete columns, not just move them. (2) Can the resulting report be Memorized?

No I am afraid that deleting columns is not supported.

Is it possible to memorize a report where the unwanted columns are to the right sufficient to not show in a printing of part of the pages?

Before I dive in I'm asking so I can determine if I am better off formatting a budget report in a spread sheet and updating it it . The disadvantage of that is reconciling the report with Moneydance.

Perhaps in another string I should start this but Moneydance needs
    (1) An improved report editing capability (2) A method of vetting and uploading "my" report format probably as an extension.
Once I develop a report I like within Moneydance I would upload it as an extension candidate where others would try it before it becomes a full extension.
I believe there are users capable of creating strong reports wanted by others and Moneydance should create the tools those users need.

The column widths and position are saved when you memorise a report. If you can create a report that meets your needs you can memorise it for future reproduction.
