Bank of America refuses direct connection.
Hi,
I downloaded the demo version of Moneydance, installed it and was able to connect to my account at Fidelity.com. When I tried to connect to my account at Bank of America, I received an error message. "The error code reported by the server was: 2000 The product which you are using is not enabled. Please call customer service at 1-800-933-6262 for assistance." Translation: Connection refused because Moneydance is not one of the personal finance software packages supported by Bank of America. I contacted Bank of American and they confirmed that only Quickbooks, Quicken, and MS Money are allowed to connect.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks,
Paul

By "you download an OFX or QFS file manually..." do you mean me actually
logging into the website and downloading it myself?
I ask because I use quicken currently, and the download is completely
automated.
Thanks!

Hi Dave,
Yes, that is what Ben meant. In order to get your transactions into Moneydance, you will need to download the file manually. You can open your bank's download page directly (after entering the appropriate address in the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu bar and selecting Online->Open Account Website.

Ok thanks. Are future plans to automate this process in the manner that
Quicken does?
Thanks

Hi Dave,
We are working on automating the process more, though I don't have a timeline yet on when that feature will be ready. We'll definitely let everyone know when it's available.
