Quotes and Exchange Rates extension - errors
Hi,
Every time I run this it states that there are errors present.
eg "13 errors and 13 quotes obtained".
Is there a way to see what these errors are ?
Also, is there any way to have this extension run on starting MoneyDance ?
Thanks,
xerty

xerty,
To see where errors are occuring open the Q&E extension. At the top right of the dialog box you will see the word "Advanced" (just under the Next Update box). Click on it and a new screen will come up. In the lower left of that screen click the Test button. You should now be able to see what the extension is retrieving for each security.
To set the extension to run the first time you open MD, set the Update Frequency to Daily (upper right of the dialog box).

Thanks jbnyt,
I actually had the Daily update set, but had not noticed it updating it before. Seems to working as intended now.
Also, thanks for the error details. For some reason the extension is failing to grab the current prices. Both historic and current are set to Yahoo Finance - UK.
Any ideas why it is not getting current prices ?

Regarding the Daily update: MD only updates the very first time you open the file for the day. So if you open it in the morning the update will run. If you then close it and open the program that night the extension will not run again. Now you will need to manually invoke it.
Regarding why you are not getting current prices: if you hover your cursor over the Test result a tool tip should appear which may give you more information about a particular security. I don't know too much about UK prices but have read on this forum that there are some tickers that are problematic. Here is one thread I found that may be helpful: http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/questions/1266-uk-stocks-u.... You may also want to do a search of this site for further information.

Thanks again jbnyt,
Yes, I realised about the daily updates. But had not noticed it carrying out the updates ;)
Regarding the errors. Thanks for the tips again.
The error states : "Connection Refused: Connect". After reading several threads I see that there are problems with fund prices but not stock prices. As I am only really interested in historic prices at the moment it is no big problem. So I can live with it as it is now.
I was just curious about what errors were present, and you have pointed me to the solution for that.
Thanks again,
xerty.
