Release information on your website
Easy question...how do I find the release number of the program I am downloading from the website? I currently have version 792, but I find that the downloaded version available on the site is 790. (I can't remember how I downloaded 792, as it is not readily apparent how to do it on the website....at least to me.)
I am asking this because the Moneydance Updater extension on my Mac has not ever worked....I select it and nothing ever happens.
Thanks!

Hi pfkalina,
Build 790 is the current stable build. Build 792 is a 'daily' build, which is to say it's sort of like a beta build.
To find your current build number, go to the Menu bar > Help > About Moneydance
You can download the current 'daily' build from here:
http://moneydance.com/tmp/daily/installers/
The 'daily' builds are not made apparent on the Moneydance website, again due to their quasi beta status.

Edit: As for the Moneydance Updater not working; I remember the Moneydance Updater causing some issues with users when entering the Password to open their Moneydance data file. It may have be de-activated.

Actually, build 791 seems to be the current stable version. The download page http://moneydance.com/other says it is build 790, but when you download you get build 791. At least for the platform choice I'm using. This isn't new - 791 was the stable build download at least as early as the end of June 2011.
So to answer the original question: "How do I find out the release number of the program I am downloading from the website?" The only way seems to be download it, install it, run it, use Help > About.

The text on the main download page is out of date. Typically this text is updated when we make a stable release. 790 to 791 was an extremely minor update that only included new security certificates. It is essentially the same build with a newer cert bundle.
I am sorry about the confusion.
Sincerely

Ben,
Noting that the change from one build to next is "extremely minor" is no excuse for failing to maintain the version reference on the download page. It has been a week and a half since your response, and the page is still not corrected. How about making it a formal checklist item to change that page, and include the release date of that version, every time a new build is placed into production release?
