How to import stock tickers automatically from OFX files?

Hello,

I am looking for a personal finance software and is currently testing MD. I have an account at InteractiveBrokers and I am trying to import my transactions from IB to MD.

The import of an OFX file seems to work fine. I use "Stock quote synchronizer' to update the stock prices but the update does not work. To make it work I need to manually edit each security in my portfolio to set up a the ticker name. This makes MD useless for me since I intend to update my account using a monthy download file and I have to many new trades per month to do manual updates.

I notice that the OFX file from IB contains a 'seclist' containing the stock tickers. Could MD import automatically the stock tickers from the OFX file?

Please come back to me on that. I would very much like to use MD as my personal finance software as I find it very simple to use. I like the main page with all the accounts and the graphs. But it is useless for me without this feature since I have to many transactions in my broker account.

   I do not know if you can download an OFX file from your broker's server and have it automatically setup a security in MD. I do know that once you setup a security, MD will never forget it and will update the values as often as you want.
