how can I increase the number of places right of the decimal point in Investments. I tried your suggestion that someone else had the same problem but there is no place to update on my screens.
Also, how can I create an amortization report for a loan? This was a very useful item in MS Money.
I am currently using the trial version for Mac and I think this is the best replacement for MS Money that I've seen.
Thanks

Okay I can see where you can enter the number of places for the decimal point on a new security, but how can you can on that already exists?

Unfortunately, there is no good way to do this. The number of decimal places for a security isn't just a display preference, but seems to be used as a scale factor of sorts to record amounts internally. So there really is no way to change it once the security is created. As posted in other threads, if the current setting doesn't work, you have to create a new security with the correct number of places, then transfer all the transactions, and the history, to the new security.
In one thread, someone posted that they edited the decimal place setting in an MD XML export, then re-imported it. This may seem to work, but it doesn't really fix everything - the resulting file is different from what you would get from using the correct number of places to start. So I wouldn't trust this.

Thanks for answering me. Ok I created a new security with the same info but gave it 6 decimal places. Now how do I transfer all the history and transactions from one to the other? I've tried to do a batch change but not a option.

(Well, I was almost hoping you wouldn't try it... You probably aren't going to like this.)
There is no way to export security history or transfer it directly to another security. If the security or securities are listed at finance.yahoo.com the easiest thing to do is probably to get the security history from there, use the download link at the bottom and then import the history into the new stock. It is quite easy and works well.
It looks like you cannot batch-change the security associated with transactions. Worse, when I tried to individually change the security for a single transaction, Moneydance also changed the price to the current price (current, not as of the transaction date) for the 'new' security. So for each transaction where the price is significant, you have to note the price, change the security, and then re-enter the price.
Maybe someone else will add some easier way to do this.
