I upgraded to Moneydance 2017.7.1(1671) on July 10,2018. After the upgrade downloaded Moneydance would not open. I opened the task manager and it showed Moneydance running as a background process. I used the task manager to stop Moneydance. I restarted my computer and tried again but got the same results.
I looked in . moneydance folder and went to documents and clicked on a Personal Finances folder with a July date, Moneydance opened but it was a folder from July 2017,
I tried to use my backup but have had no luck.
Does anyone know how to use the moneydancearchive backup?? I tried restore from backup, the thumb drive light flickers like it is doing something but nothing changes and the task manager says moneydance is not responding.
What is the purpose of the backups that are created?? Am I stuck using data from 2017?? Would I be better off uninstalling moneydance and moneydance user files, then try to start from the backup ??

    Hi,

Have you had a chance to read through my recent reply on your other thread? If we can take a look at the error logs - we should be able to get to the bottom of why your files aren't opening. The other discussion is private, so you should attach the logs in that thread.
