While reviewing the error log file for Moneydance in an attempt to identify slow startup problems I noticed a few confusing items. Can anyone explain the error messages?

Starting Moneydance 2017.8 (1679) at Tue Jun 19 10:48:04 EDT 2018
Settings Folder: C:\Users\Pjm\.moneydance

dropbox folder should be at C:\Users\Pjm\Dropbox and exists=false
set antialiasing to HRGB

Lines 9-10 - File missing. I have not customized the Classic theme.
Line 19 - Last file opened Pjm 01012018, why replacing with new root Pjm test?
Lines 20-25 - Invalid transactions found. These continually show up in error log even though it states "will be deleted locally". Can
these transactions be located and deleted manually?

Unless you actually defined a custom theme it will always list it as missing. To get rid of this message, create a custom theme, then set it back to the classic theme.

I think the Root account is "Pjm test" but the file that it opened is "Pjm 01012018.moneydance". How do you open MD? By clicking on the app or on the data file, this could explain the difference.

You can search through the data file and find these transactions, they should have the date in the file name. But if you are syncing, these transactions may come back and you should reset your sync data.

Thanks for the quick response. When you say search through the data file are you referring to searching the register, or the .txn file, or? If the .txn file how do you open to search?

The date shown in the error log=19691231 for the invalid transactions. There are no .txn files prior to 20171216 in the 'out' folder and there are no transactions in the register prior to that date either.

If they are not in the "out" directory then you can't delete them. They are somewhere in the trunk file and cannot be removed easiy. Perhaps IK can come up with a python script to find and delete those transactions. If you do a "transaction filter" report can you find these transactions?

Worse case, you can do an export and re-import of your data and it might remove the invalid transactions. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKUPS.
