Splitting entries in iOS version is unreliable

When I split an entry in my iOS version of Moneydance, the splits are frequently jumbled when I save the entry. For example: today I shopped at the supermarket and spent £10 on video, £9.50 on personal items and £13.80 on groceries. I entered them very carefully (as I've been caught out before!). When I'd saved the entry, it became £13.80 on video, £10 DEPOSIT on personal items and £0.00 on groceries. Total £3.80 spent rather than the actual £33.30. This obviously then syncs to my MacOS version and can cause all kinds of confusion if not caught in time.

I have no problem at all entering splits into the MacOS version 2017.6
