Investment account change & stock problems

Hi,

My wife's 401k recently made an "internal" change. The effect on Moneydance was it looked like one account closed, another was opened, and all of the investments were moved between them, and the "SecurityID" is different (even though it's the same investment). Moneydance seems extremely confused on how to link the stocks together. Every time I sync, it claims to not be able to match the symbol. What I thought would fix it was:
1.) Tools->Securities
2.) Choose old security I want to map to new code
3.) Edit
4.) Change security ID to new code
5.) Delete the new securities I don't want
But that doesn't seem to work. On the next sync I get the new "what does this security map to" message again.

Right now, after each sync, I can manually edit the securities to be correct. Though, that might be causing other problems, see:

What should I do?

    Could you please send me a screen shot of the of the edit security window with the security id #.

    Also try this. From securities detail window of the old security click the history button. Next to the name is an edit button. Click this to bring up a security edit window. Edit the new security id here.

    I've attached a screen shot to show what you should be seeing.

    After taking the screenshots, I thought I'd do a side by side compare of new vs. old, and I had a typo! When I tried to edit the old security originally, I added an extra character by mistake!

    I don't know how to clear records to force a re-download, so I guess I have to wait till the next paycheck to see if this works (having the proper ID aliased to the old security). If there is a way to force a re-download, let me know. I tried deleting the records, but that didn't work.

    While in investment account go to Online > Set-up online banking. In this screen there is a "reset sync" button which clears the transaction dating and allow you to download the transaction anew.

    My suggestion is to complete the security edits. Delete the old transactions. Resync and do a fresh download.
