Wrong subtotal labels in Transactions report
In MD2011(791), when the Transactions report creates subtotals by date period (day, week, month, quarter, or year), and some of the reporting periods have no selected transactions, the labels for all subsequent subtotals are wrong. MD labels the subtotals as if there were no missing periods, so the dates in the subtotal labels do not match the transaction dates above it.
To reproduce: Start with a new file using the standard account
set. In Checking, create these transactions:
1) On 1/1/2011, Income Category=Salary, Depost = 100.
2) On 3/1/2011, Expense Category=Automotive, Payment = 10.
3) On 6/1/2011, Expense Category=Automotive, Payment = 20.
Now make a Transactions report, Account = Checking, This year, Subtotal by Month.
Result: The report shows the 3 transactions above, 1/1/2011, 3/1/2011, and 6/1/2011. But the subtotals are labelled Jan 2011, Feb 2011, and Mar 2011, rather than Jan 2011, Mar 2011, and Jun 2011.
You can see the same error with Subtotals by Week using the above data. With appropriate entries, you can reproduce this for Subtotal by Year, etc.

The transactions report in 791 has some significant issues which we're working on and will be fixed for the next stable release. I have created a bug ticket for this issue. The ticket is attached to this discussion. By posting in this discussion your interest in the ticket has been registered. This is equivalent to voting for it, and you'll automatically be notified when we have updates.

We've resolved most (if not all) of the issue with the transactions report in our latest build, 803. You can download it here. If you have any problems once you've updated just let me know and we'll go from there.
