Syncing

When I initially set up my iPhone/iPad apps, they synced fine.
Now, it appears they are no longer syncing. My iPad shows the last sync as 7/12/10 at 10:24am.
The iPhone shows the last sync as 7/9/10 at 4:36 pm.
I've tried quitting the program/apps and restarting. That doesn't seem to help.

Thanks.

Cher- Totally fine to sync the iPad on the two different computers IF it's the same data file- I'm assuming you're doing something like using a CD or thumb drive to transfer the data file. I personally store my data file in Dropbox and open it from there on my various computers. With this strategy you won't even need to set up a "new" connection, your data file has all the syncing info stored in it. (It also keeps an online backup for me, which I'm terrible at remembering to do!)

Tom- Ironically I also experience the same behavior with my iPod touch. I have to open the app, close it, and open again (I don't need to turn off the wifi) it syncs beautifully. I'd suggest continuing to use whatever strategy you've found works for you, and we are working on a brand new and much more reliable syncing method.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Whatever new system you use for syncing, could you please make sure that there is a "Sync Now" button on the iOS app? The automatic detection is nice, but it doesn't always work (actually, it never works for me), and right now the only way to force a sync is to switch out of the iOS app and then switch back to it.

Hi everyone, I too cannot now sync between desktop Mac and iPad. Am desperate now because, having set up all my data on desktop with the intention of using Moneydance for my personal records from January 1, I cannot now use it on the iPad during my travels.

The sync process asks for an Access Key: what is this?

Any urgent assistance will be appreciated.

    lageze,

If you've never synced that device to Moneydance before, you'll need to enter the access key to verify the connection. You should have been shown the access key the first time you ran the app on your iPad, you should have been shown an access key. If you didn't write it down or enter, you can get a new one by uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your iPad.

You can find complete directions on setting up syncing on here: http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/iphone-app/how-do-i-install-and-set...

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.
