A credit card on our account appears on the side bar and can be opened in the accounts. However it is no longer avaialbe as one of the categories when I am using it in my checking account. The expiration date had expired and I updated that in the accounts but it still is not available in the main category section.

Access the credit card account from the left side bar.
Then, from the Moneydance menu bar, go to Account > Edit Account
In the resulting form, make sure that the 'Inactive' checkbox is NOT checked.

If Kevin's suggestion does not work can you open the edit account box for this account and send a screen shot.
