I am having problems too. It was working fine yesterday but this morning it will not sync. I installed iTunes 10 yesterday and I think this morning is the first time I have synced since. Maybe iTunes 10 it the problem?

I'm experiencing the same thing, with an iPod Touch running iOS4. I have not yet upgraded to iTunes 10.
I am running Moneydance in demo mode. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Hi all,
It shouldn't make a difference if you are using the demo version of Moneydance or not, it's fully functional, the only limitation is a max of 100 manually entered transactions.
Can those of you who are having problems confirm that you've ruled out the most obvious issues, like being on the same wireless network, etc? You can find the faq section of the more common issues here. Please do remember that when entering the key there are no spaces, that tripped me up personally the first time around! If none of these are the problem, do let me know and we'll keep working on it.
I haven't tested syncing with iTunes 10, but I'll be doing so tonight. If there's an issue in that quarter I will certainly post on the forums letting our users know and giving a timeline for resolution.

Thanks for a reply on the weekend, Angie!
I can confirm that I have worked through the trouble FAQ and the troubleshooting guide before I posted. I checked and rechecked the code.
But I thought I should go over it again tonight, and lo and behold it worked this time! There does seem to be some flakiness to the process, though. Last night I had to create a computer-to-computer network for MD to see my iPod Touch. Tonight that didn't work, but being on the same wifi network (the very same one I tried first last night) worked.

Thanks for reply, yes I had already checked through all the faq's and can see no reason why it is not accepting the access key. Definitely on the same home network, no spaces in key etc etc. Will try again tonight and report back if succesful.

If you are getting the please verify access key message after you enter the key the only reason this message is ever displayed is if there has been a typo when entering the key. It is a long key and its easy to make mistakes entering it. It only contains the numbers 0-9 and the letters A-F, do not enter any spaces. If you want to try a different key remove and then reinstall the iphone app.
If you are having any problem other than the "please verify access key" message please post in a different thread as what you are experiencing is unrelated.
Sincerely

Ben,
I guess the problem that I am having is that I can not find my access key.
When I open the Moneydance app on my iPod Touch it goes straight to by "Bank
Account" page posting my balances. I do not get a welcome page with an
access key. I checked for updates on my app and it states that I am up to
date. How do I resolve this?

Hi Joe
The access key is only shown the first time the iphone app is run. If you have removed the device from the main Moneydance program and need to add it again it is necessary to uninstall the iphone app from your iphone and reinstall it. Then when you run a newly installed copy of the iphone app it will show you the access key.

Ben,
Thanks. That did it. Somehow I missed that step when my app upgraded.

Ben - thank you for your reply but I can assure you that there is no mistake entering the key (and I have tried over a dozen times including different combinations going left to right (as you would when reading a book) and top to bottom column by column. No spaces and only zeros.
I am also not dyslexic.
Therefore the problem must lie elsewhere. I will reinstall it and try once again before giving up.

Lee,
I apologize for the difficulty you are having. The key is read like a book (in English) from top left to bottom right. I hope the reinstall goes well, Please do let us know how it goes, and if we can be of further assistance,

Reinstalled the app but now I get the "no devices running Moneydance were found" error.
I give up, I've tried all the simple things but I'm not going to try and create new networks etc. It should not be this hard.

Hi Lee
I am sorry that you have been having such a hard time getting the Moneydance mobile app connected. There a a very large number of possible network configuration problems on your local network that may be the cause of this. We are working on a solution that will allow the sync to occur over the internet that should make the configuration significantly simpler.
I am sorry for the trouble this has caused you.
Sincerely

I have the same problem. IOS app wasn't syncing on my iPhone4 and I deinstalled and reinstalled it. I brought up the Network syncing and started the IOS app. The app gave me an access key which I entered into the network sync screen (it saw the phone over WiFi). However even with the key entered exactly (w/o spaces) I get the "unable to sync ... Please verify access key" message. Below is the console message:
java.net.MalformedURLException: For input string: "0:0:0:5e59:48ff:fe3c:a364%0:6366"

Mike
Can you please remove the iPhone app and reinstall it and then try adding it to the extension again.

This works in restoring the sync function but I am finding that I have to do
this repeatedly (several times a week) in order to sync my iPhone and
MacBook.

Is the "access key" the serial number/registration key that was emailed to me when I bought the software? I have copied and pasted into the field and it does not work. I have tried it with the hyphen and without. It's not a typo issue because I'm copying and pasting. If I'm using the wrong number, please advise where to find the correct one. If I have the correct number, and I've done everything listed above in the previous comments, please suggest what to do next.
Thanks.

Hi Nikki,
The access key is a long series of letters and numbers that is displayed on your iDevice when you first set up the app. That is the code you need to type into Moneydance. If you app isn't displaying the code, you can reinstall it to get a new one.
