Nothing new running MD in debug mode - logging to the terminal window shows the same messages as in the console log I'm afraid.

Thanks for the error log. Interesting Rhumba is compiled by the author of hleofxquotes and I compile securityquoteload. None of the flags have changed on my part. The error log unfortunately does not give me much help. I will dig further.

    Hi Mezzanine

Try renaming the files to remove the (2). I think you have downloaded the files twice into the same folder.

I have just recreated the problem after a suggestion from Derek. MD doesn't like the (2) in the file name.

Thanks all - removing the suffix so that the filename matches the module name works fine. I'd already tested removing the brackets/number and using <module_name>_.mxt but this had also failed so I moved on. It appears that if the module filename doesn't exactly match the module name, then loading it into MD fails with a NULL pointer.

If this is intentional behaviour (right now I can't see the value), MD should issue an appropriately worded error rather than failing with a NULL pointer dereference.

    Hi Derek and Mike

Its brilliant of you to do all the work to provide this new quote loader system. Is this purely out of the goodness of your hearts? Very unusual....

I have downloaded it and installed and run it, and it solved all the stocks and particularly UK funds which did not work with Alpha Advantage. All the prices looked sensible in the New Price column in Quote loader so I clicked save Selected Values. HOWEVER all the UK stocks have gone wrong in my Moneydance valuation. (US and European and funds all OK). Done it twice...the first time the problem seemed to be that Moneydance had decided on a conversion rate of 0.6605 from British Sterling Pence to £. The 2nd time it has just produced various crazy prices for UK stocks. I have checked I followed your procedure correctly for establishing the new British Sterling Pence.
    1) have you come across this problem? any suggestions?
    2) in the summary in Moneydance where the stocks and prices are listed in the bottom right box, is it necessary to change all the Currency boxes from British Pound to British Sterling Pence ? (in the Currency/Security history box which comes up when you click on a Stock)

In relation to the above, I am based in UK, so GBP is base currency, and I use a Mac.

    Hi rodwhd

    Very strange.
    First to answer your questions.
Point 2) no leave them in British Pounds.
Point 1) no I have not seen this problem. I am a UK investor all my prices are returned in Pounds or Pence except 2 which in USD.
I suggest to do a FILE – EXPORT BACKUP and then FILE – RESTORE FROM BACKUP so testing does not affect your real data set.
To try to analyse the problem can you post screen shots of
    1) The Currency window for British Sterling Pence.
    2) The quote loader window after get prices.
    3) The quote loader window after save selected prices.
    3) After Save Selected Prices the Security History window for a security that has GBP and one for GBX as indicated in the Quote Loader Trade Currency.

If this does not show up the problem we may need to instruct you how to post an error log.

I had to go back to Build 1671 [from 1691] as attempting to print a Portfolio report caused MD to freeze. Others reported similar.

Any idea if the most recent build fixes that problem so that I can use your extension package with "the latest release build of MD"?

    hi ,mike and derek.
By the way I am using MD 2017.7 (1657), is that the best one?
I went back to my backed up data and did the whole thing again - it has worked OK this time. However I am having a problem with the File- Export Back Up function. I backed up various versions as I went along (as was correcting various incorrect symbols for managed funds), but they have saved as Text Edit Documents (unusable) rather than as Moneydance archive files. See the attached screenshot. The only archive files that have worked are the ones where I (fortunately) had closed and re-opened Moneydance. [By the way I looked at the Currency/Security History screen for British Sterling Pence in the version I did yesterday. It had inserted a new entry on 11/9/2018 with a rate of 0.66059. Unfortunately i didn't take a screen shot. Only other entry was the 01/01/1900 one for 0.01.].

    Hi
I too am having the same issue with GBX. Having created it as a value of 0.01 as instructed, now something in MD has added a new value for this currency of 0.6xxx (can't remember the exact number as I've now manually corrected this back to 0.01) which caused the converted values to be incorrect.

    Hi rodwhd and SteveH42

To try to analyse the problem can you post screen shots of
    1) The Currency window for British Sterling Pence.
    2) The quote loader window after get prices.
    3) The quote loader window after save selected prices.
    3) After Save Selected Prices the Security History window for a security that has GBP and one for GBX as indicated in the Quote Loader Trade Currency
    4) The Currency window for British Sterling Pence again.

We are testing a new approach that does not involve setting up British Sterling Pence GBX. We want to make sure nothing else is going on so please post the screen shots. As a UK investor with a base currency of British Pounds and after a lot of testing I haven't hit this issue.

Ok - this might help. I think it has something to do with the extension "Quotes and Exchange rates Updater". This has just run and I now have a new entry for the GBX price. See attached screenshot of exchange rate and the MD Console log.
