Does the program create a separate file for each bank account or credit card account? Where are the files located? I was not asked where to store my file.

    Hi Steve,

One data file houses all of your individual accounts.

You can, of course, create as many data files as you like.

The location of the data file varies based on your OS. The easiest way to locate the default location of your data file is from within Moneydance.

From the Moneydance menu bar, go to Help > Show Documents Folder.

Make sure that you know and understand this location and include it any backup routines that you run.

    Or...

You can move your data file to a more convenient location. e.g. My Documents.

Make sure that Moneydance is closed if you decide to move the data file.

I'm just a user, not support.

And once opened at the new location, MD will remember where it is and make that new location the default MD file to open. Since I backup only "My Documents", that is where i moved my MD folder.
