I currently have Java 8 update 181 (build 1.8.0_181-b13) installed. I notice that MoneyDance appears to still be using 8 update 162:
Starting Moneydance 2017.8 (1688) at Sat Jul 28 07:16:09 EDT 2018
Settings Folder: C:\Users\Kevin\.moneydance
OS: Windows 10 10.0 amd64
Java: 1.8.0_162 (Oracle Corporation)

Is there a way to get MoneyDance to use the current version installed on my PC or does it have to use 162?

I am not support staff, just a user.

As the build of Java used by Moneydance is imbedded in Moneydance I don't think it will change until Sean the software developer want to update it.

Thanks. Just wondering if the java in MoneyDance could be deleted and use the one installed on my PC.

    I'm a fellow user.

    I think it unlikely.

Java has had a history of not always being backward or forward compatible. The only way of avoiding problems is to use a specific version of java. Moneydance achieves this by including its own version and installing it as part of Moneydance into a known private location and only using this version.
