Is Moneydance stand alone or subscription software?

    Hi Gordon,

Moneydance is a standalone application that does not require a subscription. The Licensing Policy is one License per household for personal use:

With a license purchase, you are entitled to one Free upgrade to the next major release and a 50% discount for future upgrades thereafter:

    Hope that this helps.

Concerning upgrades: Will MoneyDance continue to work without an "upgrade"? I used Quicken very satisfactorily for many years without ever upgrading. However, now that I've switched to Linux I'm looking for a replacement and it looks as though MoneyDance is the best, even at $40.

We do not, nor do we have the means to, deactivate older versions of the program. How long a version will work depends at lot on the features you use, as well as developments in operating systems. For example, I know that some people on these forums are still using versions as old as the 2010 version. However, eventually certain features will no longer work, such as direct connections to banks as security protocols continue to evolve. Eventually operating systems will no longer be able to run older versions of programs. These are common things that would apply to any software.

Thanks for the response. It is what I would have expected. I'm sure I'll
be getting it when my trial runs out.
