Sub-categories

Hi

The budget bars display "groceries" how i want them, eg a parent "groceries" & then subcategories with the stores individual name.
But
When i display the data within Expenses in the pie chart format, it shows every sub-category.

Within the pie graph & expenses section, is there a way to only display the parent (Groceries) & not each individual store?

I have attached many sub-categories to help categorise my spending, but when the expenses pie chart is displayed, there is too much information and i dont need to see every single area of spending, instead i wish to know the parent category i have subdivided it under.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

    Hi Shahab,

    Thank you for contacting us.
Please go to Tools > Graphs and Reports > select the Expenses Graph and
un-check the 'Show top:' option in the 'Edit' parameters dialog. This should allow you to select the parent categories.

    Hi

This is awesome & exactly what i was trying to do, thank you very much.

How do i change the order of the pie chart or move the section of the chart
    to a different spot?
    eg
as shown in screen shot, i want the black to be next to the brown (these
are essential household bills which dont change and are 50% of my
outgoings, thus would like it to show its taking 50% of the pie chart by
    being next to each other.)

    Thanks

I'm glad we resolved the first issue.
    Regarding the sort order:
There's an existing ticket in our ticketing system with your suggestion, so I've attached it to this discussion and the developers will be looking into it.

    Hi

A previously resolved sync issue which was resolved has reappeared, could
you send a Dropbox link to upload the file for you to view?

    Hi Shahab,

I have sent a request to your E-mail to check the file.
Would it be possible for you to also describe any recent changes on your computer, I would like to find out what may have caused the issue?

    hi

i believe the issue may be related to deleting all the moneydance folders
held in dropbox and trying to create a new synced folder on different
machines, perhaps due to different API requests?

    not sure if that helps

Is the .moneydancesync folder still on Dropbox?
I have uploaded the file with the changed settings and it should now present you with the correct options.

    Glad to help!
I believe that your reasoning on what may have caused the issue is correct.
Changes to the .moneydancesync file usually cause issues with the sync process.
I believe that Moneydance was trying to look for the same location and that caused the error.
