My wife and I each have our own computer. We would like to share the same Moneydance file from a networked drive. I have successfully stored the file on the network drive and I have deleted the file from my laptop per the instructions in the User Guide.
Can I download Moneydance to my wife's computer and use the same activation code? Or, do I need to purchase a completely separate copy of Moneydance for her computer and then connect it to the file on our network drive?

    Hi Robert,

Per the Moneydance licensing policy, using your existing license key in this instance is fine. Look to the 'How Many Keys' paragraph of the following webpage.

There is a new sync engine in Moneydance 2017 that allows you to share your data file across multiple machines without the restriction of only having one machine accessing the data file at a time. Which would be the case with the sharing setup that you have created. It's fine that way, as long as you only use one instance of the data file at a time.

You can read about setting up the new sync system here, if you're interested:
