single vs double split lines

Is there a way to return to single line splits in MD2011? Up until this edition, both you and Quicken always used single line entry for the splits. This double line entry is an extreme waste of space. When I get an insurance check, it often will contain as many as thirty different payments, all of which are entered as splits.

I am afraid it is not possible to change the split window to single line mode. I have linked a suggestion ticket proposing adding a single line mode option for split windows such that your post counts as a vote for the ticket,

Can you tell me what the rationale was/is for doing this?? This is another example of "improvements" that are not improvements.

There is now an additional field on all transactions called "foreign amount" which allows you to enter the exact amount for the other side of a foreign currency transfer. Since this field is on the second line for regular transactions it was added to a second line for split for the sake of consistency.

I am sorry that this change does not meet your needs.

You are correct. It doesn't meet my needs. I have gone back to 2010r3. Dismissing the alert of a new version at the beginning is nothing compared to dealing with 30 double spaced splits.

Is there some way to become informed when a version with a choice becomes available?
