No Asset Distribution Chart
MD 2008r4 (640) Win XP SP3 - When all of the holdings in an investment account are of the same type, i.e. all stocks or all mutual funds then no Asset Distribution Chart is generated in the Portfolio View. - Kevin N.

You are correct, when all securities are of the same time there is not distribution chart. I believe this is deliberate as a pie chart that is 360 degrees the same type is not particularly useful.
Do you perceive there to be value in an asset distribution chart when there is only one type of security. Perhaps I am missing something important here.

HI Ben, Thanks for your reply. It was mentioned in a different post that some users don't even bother changing the default security type to the proper one. As you know, this results in no asset allocation chart. I agree that a 360 degree chart in of itself is of little value. However if a 360 degree chart were generated then possibly more users would be prone to applying the proper security type and enjoying the benefits of the asset allocation chart. As it stands, I wouldn't be surprised that there may be users who are unaware that asset allocation charts even exist in the portfolio view. Thanks again. Kevin N.
